Roll-Forward Projects
Feature

We’re working on a powerful new feature that will automate one of the most tedious and time-consuming tasks in TaxExact: creating new projects for the upcoming tax season. Today, teams need to manually create new projects for each client as the upcoming tax season approaches. That can become quite time-consuming, especially for larger teams that have hundreds of projects. The new Roll-Forward feature will completely eliminate this work and automatically (and intelligently) roll-forward projects from the prior year to give your team the perfect starting point when tax season arrives.

Project Change-Tracking
Feature

We’re working on an exciting new feature that will not only help your team isolate errors more quickly, but also help train your staff. The change-tracking feature will allow you to see what fields were modified by the last person the project was assigned to, the old values, and the new values — all from within the project screens you’re familiar with.

PDF-Friendly Summaries
Improvement

We’re working on an improvement that will allow you to print an optimized view of any summary screen or download each summary screen as a PDF file to your computer. This will give you a nicer way to share projects with your clients or archive projects internally in print or digital format. While you can technically accomplish this today, we’re going to optimize the design and make this function more accessible and user-friendly.

Improved General Income Screen
Improvement

We’re planning to optimize the General Income screen by adding some additional views and consolidating income types. Right now, you might have several W-2’s and 1099’s that would be helpful to see grouped together or consolidated. We may also add new view settings to let you toggle between several views depending on your teams needs. This improvement is in the exploration stage, but it’s something we’re working on!

Dashboard Updates
Improvement

We’re planning to improve the statistic tiles at the top of the dashboard screen. We are going to include a new tile for “Processed” projects, reorder the tiles so they align more closely with your teams workflow, and only show project statistics from the current calendar year which will allow you to start fresh on January 1st and have a clear understanding of your teams workload for the upcoming tax season. This improvement will be especially powerful when combined with the new Roll-Forward feature!
